I started this business with about $2500 that I got back from my income tax check. But you dont have to wait for that check you can start buying all this equipment one or two things at a time.
Make sure you buy the least expensive things, later when business starts to grow you can upgrade the equipment. I started with the 60 gallon water tank and could wash up to 5 regular size cars, now that tank is not enough I have to up grade to a bigger tank because business is growing.
You dont need a truck or van, if you have a car you will need to get a hitch put on, and then get youself a 5x6 trailer to put your equipment on. I already had the van so I fit everything in it and off I went.
Once you get all your equipment go out and do some advertising for yourself. I started giving out flyers and business cards to law offices, beauty shops, nail solons, barber shops and small dealerships and slowly but surely I started getting calls from people.
This is how much you can make
Full detail: $80x2 cars a day=$160x5 days a week=$800 Thats $41,600 a year
$80x4 cars a day=$320x5 days a week=$1600 Thats $83,200 a year
You can make more, lets say you did 4 full details and 3 wax & wash at $40 for a regular size car, thats $320+$120=$440 thats $2200 a week and $114,000 a year.
So start learning how to detail cars and start earning the big bucks.
Window Washing
Here is another business that is easy to start. Some of the equipment you might already have
- 5 gallon bucket
- Window Cleaning Concentrate
- Squeegee
- Telescoping Pole
- Window Scruber/Soft Scruber
- Chamois
- latters
If you dont have all these things on hand you can find it at your local home improvement store. Now once you get all your equipment go out and do some advertising for yourself.
It should not be hard to find business because all businesses have windows and all homes have them too. Now, you can charge anywhere from $130 to $175 for a two story house or you can charge between $20 and $25 an hour, but in my opinion customers prefer flat rates. The best thing I like about this business is that its an all year round thing, thats why in the winter this is what I do to keep the money flowing.
Pressure Washing
This business will make you money. This one might be a little expensive to start but you can make it back in less then 4 months.
Equipment you need.
- Pressure Washer 2500psi/3000psi
- 100ft Pressure Washer Hose
- 5 Piece Pressure Washer Spray Nozzle Set
- Chemicals and Soap
- A Hard Scrub Brush And A Soft Scrub Brush
Anyone can make very good money with this business. Take a look at what you can charge.
Houses
- $100 - $300 flat price
- $0.50 - $2.00 per linear foot
- $0.08 - $.18 per Sq. Ft.
Driveways & Sidewalks
- $75 - $200 flat price
- $.08 - $.15 per Sq.
I do all three of these businesses and I am projecting to make at least $150,000 this year and I dont even work full time. You can make more by doing it full time and even more if you hire a helper once you get swamped with work. If you advertise yourself right you will be very successfull and always remember that a satisfied customer means repetive business plus they will refer you to more custmers.
If you follow what I did good luck on all your endeavors.
